Mrs. Annie Will Butler, 93, of Tyrone, GA passed Thursday, August 10, 2023 in Tyrone, GA.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST, Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Noble Williams, officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery, Columbus, GA. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. EST.

Mrs. Annie W. Butler was born on December 21, 1929 in Russell County, AL to the late Essie B. Covington and the late Tommy Gary.

Annie gave her life to Christ at a very early age at Mt. Arrie Baptist Church of Russell County, AL. In 1948 Annie united in Holy Matrimony to the late Ben Butler, Jr. of Russell County, AL and to that union she was blessed with 4 children; Tommy, Willie, Ann, & Essie Butler.

Annie and her family relocated to Columbus, GA in 1956. There she joined Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Phenix City, AL, under the leaderships of Pastor J. C. Cook, Pastor Cecil Terry and lastly Pastor Noble D. Williams. Annie served faithfully on the usher board and participated as a devotional leader while her health allowed her.

Annie began her employment as a domestic worker for the Lumpkin family of Columbus, GA for many years. Later she advanced and started employment with the Southern Phenix Textile Company in Phenix City, AL where she retired.

During her retirement Annie enjoyed her family and her friends. She loved cooking and baking. Everyone would definitely not miss a Sunday Dinner she would prepare for her family and friends if they stopped by. She also loved being the Uber Driver for her retirement community. Always taking those that’s in need to do an errand. She enjoyed serving others.

Annie’s beloved and caregiving daughter, Essie Butler Horn, preceded her in death exactly one year ago on August 10, 2022.

On the eve of August 10, 2023, the Lord called Annie home from labor to eternal rest and said, “Well done my My good and faithful servant, no more suffering!”

Annie leaves to cherish her memories 2 supportive sons, Tommy (Adriene) Butler, Phenix City, AL; Willie (Patricia) Butler, Columbus, GA; a loving daughter, Ann (David) Reeves, Roberta, GA; a dedicated grandson, Roderick (Valencia) Jones, Tyrone, GA; 1 loving granddaughter, Katrina (Bradley) Hill, Hallendale, FL; 3 loving grandsons, Keith, Brian, Patrick Butler, Columbus, GA; 5 great grandsons, Joshua, Dominick, Christopher Jones, Tyrone, GA; Peyton, Kaden Butler of Columbus, GA; 1 great granddaughter, Jerian Butler, Columbus, GA; 2 great-great grandsons, Karter & Kollin Newsome, Columbus, GA; 3 loving cousins, Rose (Clemmon)Julkes, Smith Station, AL; Sadie McCoy, Columbus, GA; Jessie Powell, Acworth, GA; and a host of family and friends.
