Vermont “VT” Johnson, age 82 died on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Ky.
He was born February 2, 1941 in Danville, KY to Vermont Johnson Sr. and Ida Mae Howard Johnson.
Preceded him in death, his parents, Vermont Johnson, Sr. and Ida Mae Johnson, three brothers, James Howard Johnson, Charles Richard Johnson and Aaron Johnson.
Vermont received his education at Bate High School. He accepted Christ at and young age and was baptized at First Baptist Church, in Danville, KY. Vermont was formally employed at American Greetings, Ephraim McDowell Hospital and Centre College to name a few.
He was an avid fan of the Louisville Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens. Vermont loved to paint, gardening and lawncare.
He is survived by four children, Paula Wise, Louisville, KY, Andrea Johnson, Kimberly Jordan and Ivan Johnson, all of Indianapolis, IN; 2 grandchildren, Christopher Jordan and Jessica Jordan; 2 great grandchildren; one sister, Brenda (Rev. Bishop) Carter, Lexington, KY; three brothers, Wilbur (Hazel) Johnson, Louisville, KY, Jerome Johnson and Gregory Johnson, Danville, KY; special cousin, James Munford, Danville, KY; two sisters-in-law, Pattie Sue Johnson and Ella Johnson; two special friends, Jimmy Singleton and Ivory Yocum; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
It's been a year ago today that you were called home to God. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of you. R.I.P daddy, love Andi
