Mrs. Patricia D. Williams Ashford, 61, of Smiths Station, AL passed Sunday, August 13, 2023 in Columbus, GA.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Friday, August 18, 2023 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL with Rev. Andrew Alexander, officiating.

There will be no public visitation.

Patricia Denise Williams Ashford was born on December 17, 1961 in Phenix City, Alabama to the late Oles and Georgia Mae Williams. She was the baby of seven children. Patricia departed this life on Sunday, August 13, 2023.

At an early age Patricia gave her life to Christ Jesus. As a child she attended Central Elementary School and graduated in the Class of 1979 from Central High School. She later received her Bachelors of Science Degree from Columbus State University. She worked for Chattahoochee Valley Community College and later retired as teacher from Phenix City School System after 28 years.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Otis, George “Butch” and Willie “Red” Williams; sisters, Christine Mitchell and Dorothy “Dot” Mullins, and brothers-in-law, Herman Stephens and Charlie Lewis.

Patricia leaves behind a devoted husband, Nathaniel Ashford of 38 years; four loving children, Jared Chase (DeWhitney), Morgan Brooke, and Madison Paige, all of Smiths Station, AL, Leslie Paschal (Abdul) of Hampton, GA; two grandsons who were the light of her life, Jared Chase II and Dominick Jaye of Smiths Station, AL; three granddaughters, Jacinta Elise, Marley Arika and Kye Erin of Savannah, GA; one cherished sister, Joyce Stephens; four sisters- in-law, Dorothy, Shirley (Cornell), Helen (Edgar), Vanjual; three brothers-in-law, Alfonza Mullins, John Ashford Jr. (Ollie), Charles (Ann) Ashford, and host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
