Mrs. Glenda Lee Bates, 67, of Prattville formerly of Gadsden, passed away on August 11, 2023. She is survived by her family. We ask that you keep this family in your hearts and prayers.

Elder Glenda Bates is a native of New York. Elder has lived in Prattville, Alabama since 2009 and she is married to Deacon Henry Bates. Elder Bates was saved and received her call into the Ministry of the Gospel at the age of twenty-two (22). Elder Bares has been the keynote speaker and held conferences and workshops throughout the United States: Alaska, New York, Alabama, North Carolina, and Tennessee. She was called and commissioned by almighty God to proclaim His word with prophetic teaching for 40 plus years, igniting the flame of prayer in the hearts of God’s people.

Elder Glenda Bates is a virtuous woman, a real woman, a bold woman of God, one who loves the Lord and His people. A daughter of the Kingdom, truly on a mission for the Lord. Elder Bates aspires to be a true woman of God by helping other women who are going through difficult times. To be a mother, sister, grandmother, or friend to those who path she may cross. To unite with the sisters of other churches, communities, cities, states, and the world who are hurting, to support through prayers and by any other means necessary. Throughout her life experiences God has packaged the total woman. Elder Bates has been a single, widow, a divorcee and married. Her life experiences have not hindered her walk with God but only intensified it the more. As a dedicated servant and daughter of the Most High King, she strives to honor Him this day and every day with truth for God is truth, and truth is divine. Elder Bates Honors the divine with trust, she trust the Divine to provide her with everything she needs to live fully, peacefully and abundantly. Elder Bates honor the Divine with prayer, meditation, willingness, creativity, awareness, affirmation, choices, conservation, freedom, fun, boundaries, compassion, righteousness, holiness, forgiveness, service, patience, faith, discipline, order, unselfishness, giving, presence, promptness, preparation, and gratitude. Her daily pledge is that in all her ways, she will acknowledge Him, and allow Him to direct her path. (Proverbs 3:6). Her life’s theme is God’s daughter takin fearless authority through God’s mighty weapons of prayer, faith, love, the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit. Elder Bates is a member of United Christian Church Prattville, AL where Thaylee Dickerson is her Pastor. Elder Bates serves as an intercessor and prayer warrior. Elder Bates wars from a place of scripture “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” (II Corinthians 10:4). Seeing souls saved and set free from the stronghold of the enemy is her passion and service to the Kingdom of God.

Glenda Lee Bates, born Glenda Lee Cameron to the late William & Josie Cameron in Harlem, New York City on January 4, 1956.

A Warrior of Faith, and Intercessor of prayer since 1979, a poetry writer since 1989, a workshop facilitator for over 40 years. Women’s Ministry and conference speaker. Pre licensed- school teacher, postal worker, 911 dispatcher, Evangelist- teacher in the word of the Lord.

Many defeats but Glenda was not defeated for she knew God specialized in the things that seemed impossible and He could do what no other power could do with his blood and his love.

On April 25, 2009, Glenda married Henry James Bates, a union ordained from the Lord. Through the ups and downs, the storms and the rain by the grace of God we made it. “Faith Walk”

Public viewing will be Friday, August 18, 2023 at the United Christian Church of Prattville, from 3pm-6pm.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the United Christian Church at 11:00 am. 1852 Hwy 14 East Fairview Avenue, Prattville, AL 36066.
