Joseph Alexander “Sandy” Stewart, Jr., 89, of New Bern died Wednesday August 16, 2023 at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM-7:00 PM Friday, August 18, 2023 at Oscar's Mortuary.

His funeral Mass is 11:00 AM Saturday, August 19, 2023 at St. Paul Catholic Church 3005 Country Club Rd. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Mangiafico of the home; seven sons, Bradley Scott Stewart of Colorado, Joseph A. Stewart, III of Boca Raton, FL, Robert Winfield Stewart of Lake Worthy, FL, Christopher Edward Jacobs of Lexington, KY, Joseph John Stewart of Corona, CA, Paul Leo Jacobs of France and Michael Sutton Jacobs of Frederick, MD; fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
