It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Katrina A. Sullivan-Matt, a beloved wife, mother, and cherished member of our community. She departed from this world on August 21, 2023, leaving behind a profound legacy of love, kindness, and strength.

Born on October 25, 1973, to Jim and Shirley Ann Sullivan, Katrina was a beacon of warmth and compassion. Throughout her life, she touched the lives of countless individuals with her infectious smile, unwavering support, and gentle demeanor. Her love knew no bounds, and she dedicated herself to nurturing her family and those around her.

One of Katrina's most treasured roles was that of a devoted wife to her husband, Prince David Matt, Sr. Their union was a testament to the power of love.

As a mother, Katrina poured her heart and soul into raising her son, Simeon. She was his guiding light, offering unwavering support, advice, and unconditional love. Simeon was truly blessed to have such a remarkable woman as his mother, and her influence will forever shape his life.

Katrina graduated with her Master of Business Administration from the University of Tampa and her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Florida. She was an ardent Gator.

In her spare time, Katrina found solace in traveling, cooking, and playing the piano, flute, and oboe. Her passion for traveling, creating culinary delights, and expressing herself through music will forever be etched in the family’s heart.

Outside of her family, Katrina touched the lives of many with her infectious spirit and unwavering kindness. Her warm smile and generous nature brightened the lives of all who crossed her path. She was a source of inspiration, reminding us to savor life's simple pleasures and embrace the beauty of creativity.

Though Katrina may no longer be with us in the physical realm, her spirit will forever live on in the memories of those she touched. Her husband, Prince, and son, Simeon, will carry her love, warmth, and indomitable spirit within their hearts as they navigate life's journey.

She leaves behind two stepchildren, Princess Ousley (Andre), Prince D. Matt Jr.; her father, Jim Sullivan; five siblings, Karen Sullivan, Steven Sullivan, Douglas Sullivan, and Dionne Sullivan; a step-sister, Linda Woodard, Aunts, Uncles and host of cousins, in laws and friends.

Let us remember Katrina for the radiant light she brought into our lives and the profound impact she had on our hearts. In honoring her memory, may we strive to emulate her love, compassion, and unwavering strength.

Though we mourn the loss of Katrina, we take solace in knowing that she has found peace in the embrace of eternity. May her soul rest in eternal serenity.

Karina's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 , 2:00 PM at The St. Paul AME Church, 719 Butler Street, Safety Harbor, FL 34695. Visitation Friday, 6-8 PM at St. Paul Church. Entrusted Care To Smith-Young Funeral Home-Clearwater.
