Obituary For Ms. Gracie Mae Gray

Ms. Gracie Mae Gray of Thomaston, GA. passed on Monday, August 21, 2023.

Ms. Gracie Mae Gray was born on May 1, 1944, to the late Mrs. Aldine Stinson Gray and the late Mr. M.C. Gray in Thomaston, Upson County, GA. She was educated in the Upson County School System and attended Drake High School. At an earl age, she joined the Friendship Baptist Church.

She was the mother of two children. During her early womanhood, she was employed by Martha Mill Textiles to support her family. She was a faithful employee until retirement.

During her leisure time, Gracie she enjoyed going to church at Friendship and visiting Rising Star Baptist Church and spending time with her sisters, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed the simple things in life like sitting in the yard and swinging in the swing listening to nature.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Melvin Gray; and one sister, Georgia Mae Ellerbee. On Monday, August 21, 2023, the Lord called her name. She answered the call and went home to eternal rest. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who knew her.

Gracie eaves to cherish her memory, two children, Mr. Anthony “Pete” (Charlene) Gray of Griffin, GA and Ms. Evon “Sue” Gray of Thomaston, ga; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ms. Molly Gray and Mrs. Dorothy (Calvin) Pennyman both of Thomaston, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
