Obituary For Nathan Tumer

NATHAN “NATE” DAVID TUMER, son of the late Nellie Mae (Wicker) Tumer and the late Amos Tumer, was born in Harrisburg Pennsylvania.

He received his education in the Harrisburg School District. During his working career as a Butcher and General Laborer, he made such an impact on the lives of many people. Nate was very kind, compassionate and loving. If you needed shelter, food or someone to talk to, he tried his very best to provide it.

In his leisure, his favorite activities were to spend quality time with family, watch a Sixers basketball game or catch his favorite football team (Minnesota Vikings) on television, while enjoying a good home cooked meal.

On Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at his home in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Nate transitioned from this earthly life into eternal life to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Nellie Mae Tumer; his brother, Jeffrey “Beetle” Tumer; his sister, Susan “Suzie” Tumer and he leaves to celebrate his life, his only child; his daughter, Onae N. (Peterson) Boatright who is left with thankfulness for the blessing of a wonderful father; his granddaughters, Makayla Peterson-Cooke and Morgan Peterson-Cooke; his brothers, A’mas Tumer, Otis Tumer and Stanley Tumer and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. Nate will be sorely missed.

Nate's life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 with visitation 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton.

To Nate's family: Nate was kind and comical but stood his ground. He was a good hearted man and no matter what he had, he was always willing to share. Your family will always be family to me. God bless while Nate rests... he's earned it. With love and sympathy, Sheri & Family
