Deacon James Franklin (Mr. Billy) McClain age 94, of Lincolnton, North Carolina transitioned peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Atrium Health – Lincolnton, North Carolina.

He was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina on May 29, 1929 to the late Benjamin McClain and Nettie Graham McClain. He was married to the late Irene Jones McClain.

Deacon McClain was a faithful member/Deacon at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church where his service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 1:00 pm, the family will receive friends at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs A.M.E. Zion Church cemetery.

There will be a public walkthrough held on Friday at the Funeral Home from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
