Obituary For Marvin Sylvester Davis-El

Marvin Sylvester Davis-El was born in Greensboro, North Carolina to Dorothy Siler Davis and the
late Marvin Sylvester Davis, Sr on May 13, 1958. He departed this life on Saturday, September 2, 2023.


Marvin was a 1976 graduate of Ben L. Smith High School. During his time there he enjoyed running track. In his later years, he had a great sense of humor and was considered the family comedian. Marvin’s hobbies included singing, practicing martial arts and watching sports. He was also a veteran of the Armed Forces. Most of all, he was a proud parent.


He leaves behind precious memories with his son, Camari Lane (Camari’s mother Gloria Lane) of High Point, NC; his mother Dorothy Davis of Greensboro; two sisters Sharon Davis and Debra Kay Davis Boddie of Greensboro and one brother Rodney Davis (Carol) of Kernersville, NC; three nieces Quan Barrett Booker (Robert) of Greensboro, Tamara Barrett of Greensboro and Kristal Boddie of Atlanta, GA; four great nieces Brejanae Barrett, Nancy Barrett, Jasmine Barrett and Daisha Barrett all of Greensboro; a favorite aunt Delores Griffin and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 3 pm Union Memorial United Methodist Church 1012 East Gate City Boulevard Greensboro, North Carolina. 2:30 pm Visitation.
