Kathryn Taylor

Kathryn Elizabeth Taylor was born in Bethesda, Maryland on September 18, 1972. She grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she attended John Baker Elementary School. In second grade, she joined the Duke City Dashers Track Team, placing 2nd in the long jump, 5th in the 400m and 6th in the 200m at the 1980 Nationals in Spokane, Washington.

Kathryn would later move to Memphis, Tennessee where she graduated from Hamilton High School with honors. After high school, she attended Christian Brothers University, majoring in Accounting. After graduating with an Associate's from Spartan School of Aeronautics, she started a job at Metalwest as a Commercial Coordinator. This kickstarted a lengthy career in the steel industry. She later received her Bachelor's in Business Administration from Columbia College. Kathryn continued to enjoy her expertise and the work she loved while at Steel Warehouse in Memphis, Tennessee.

Kathryn was a fun-spirited soul who took on many passions, most fondly, traveling and golf. She was strong-willed and meticulous. She had an enormous heart and an incredible sense of humor. One of her favorite places was the ocean. She logged thousands of miles traveling as far as London, Canada, and Jamaica.

Kathryn, 50, passed away peacefully on August 27th, 2023, with her family lovingly by her side.

Kathryn is survived by her father (Steve Taylor); mother (Alfreda Taylor); and daughter (Nomi). She is forever remembered by her siblings (Steven and Allyson); nephew (Marciano); along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Kathryn will be remembered for all the love she shared with her friends and family. She truly loved each of them - and if you knew her, you knew it. When her time came, she carried herself with dignity and strength, and was full of love and life every day. She will be missed dearly.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 8, 2023 from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Funeral service will be Saturday, September 9, 2023 2:00pm both will be held at RS Lewis & Sons Funeral Home 3651 Austin Peay Hwy, Memphis, TN 38128
