Ms. Jessie Lee Munn, 83, of Phenix City, AL passed Monday, September 4, 2023 in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Saturday, September 9, 2023 at New Revival Christian Church Columbus, GA with Bishop James Lewis, Jr., pastor, officiating. Burial to follow Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, Seale, AL. Visitation is Friday, September 8, 2023 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
Ms. Munn was born March 28, 1940 in Selma, AL to the late Rev. Ervin Hicks and the late Minnie Craig Hicks. She professed the Lord at an early age at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Seale, AL. Jessie was a hard worker and worked at the Guest House and R.I.C.E Services, Fort Benning, GA. She also worked at Fieldcrest Mill, Phenix City, AL and retired from West Central Hospital, Columbus, GA. She was a founding member of New Revival Christian Center Church, Columbus, GA. Where she served faithfully as a hostess, on the Mother's Board, Missionary, Choir, and sang with several gospel groups.
Growing up, our mother was always there for us whether we needed help with our homework or just a shoulder to cry on. She was a woman of strong faith and she instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Lee Craig (Hicks); infant daughter, Gail Mckissic and parents, REv. Ervin and Willie Mae Hicks
Survivors include her three daughters, Connie Bell (Christopher), Ft. Mitchell, AL, Barbara Taylor, Columbus, GA and Faye Perkins (Charlie), Phenix City, AL; two sons, Gregory McKissic (Tasha) and Darnell McKissic both of Phenix City, AL; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Mother, you will always be in our hearts, and will never forget you, we love you so much. Rest in peace.
