Obituary For Mrs. Martha Jones Marshall

Mrs. Martha Jones Marshall of Thomaston, GA. passed on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
Mrs. Martha Jones Marshall was born to the late Mrs. Lillie Bell Rouseau Jones and the late Rev. Lester Jones, Jr. on May 27, 1952, in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. She received her early education in the public schools of Upson County and graduated from Drake High School.

She confessed Christ at am early age and joined the Pine Chapel Baptist Church where the family worshipped. She later moved to Atlanta in her early adult life and joined the Rehoboth Community Church under the leadership of Elder Minter. She later joined the Evangelistic Miracle Reviving Center under Bishop Croom and lastly the Anointed Voices of Praise under Pastor Jacqueline Bailey.

At the tender age of twenty-one, she met and married Mr. Willie Marshall. They were joined in marriage on May 30, 1973. She was the mother of three children.

Martha united with the Stone Well Worship Center. She loved the preaching and teaching of the Word of God, and she became dedicated and faithful member. She was actively involved in Bible Study and Sunday School. She had a hunger for the word of God. She was devoted to the Women Ministry of the church and all its activates. She actively participated in the Agape ministry, served as Co-Captain of the Generation Sunday Fund Raising, actively involved in the Seven-Up program and was willing to serve wherever she was needed, as long as her health allowed. She dearly loved her pastor and first lady.

She was preceded in death by her parents : brother, Randy Jones: and son, Maurice Marshall, Sr. On Thursday, August 31, 2023, the Lord saw his daughter in distress. He called her name, she answered, and she went home to eternal rest. Her departure has saddened the hearts of her family, but her memory will live on.

Martha is survived by her husband, Mr. Willie Edward Marshall of Thomaston, GA; two children, Ms. Shawandra Jones (Anthony Farris) of Atlanta, GA and Mr. Norris (Akeisha) Marshall of Hiram, GA; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Patricia Whatley (Willie Bentley) of Barnesville, GA and Ms. Teresa Jones of Thomaston, GA; three brothers, Mr. Johnny and (Vanessa) Jones of College Park, GA, Mr. Patrick Jones of Thomaston, GA and Mr. Anthony (Juanita) Jones of Barnesville, GA; aunts and uncles, Mrs. Louise Robertson and Mrs. Virginia Rouseau of Decatur, GA. Mr. Edward Rouseau of Detroit, MI, Mr. Joel (Dorothy) Rouseau of Atlanta.
