She will always be my little sister from her and Rj putting on boxing gloves and fighting to watching her drive her first car. From me and Pop(AKA)Big L fixing the car the next day cause she recked it lol. The time that Tanya and I played basketball together was full of nothing but moments of laughter, hard work and joy. She had the most encouraging smile and since we shared the same name we would always joke about who was #1 or #2. I am praying for her family during this time and times to come. May God bring you all peace.

To the parents, family, and friends I offer this prayer that you will not always mourn as you do now, but will find peace and hope despite your loss. Chantal Simmers

I knew LaTonya for four years in college. She was one of my two favorite college roommates. She was also a teammate. I remember her trips to get her nails done, her elegant fingers filled with championship rings, the way she'd eat fried chicken and then go to practice and not struggle at all. LaTonya was the only person who could drive her car and was always proud to be from Bull City. She taught me that there is a time to get loud so that you are not run over, but that most things can be handled with grace and finesse. I didn't keep up with her in the ensuing years but would see something on social media every now and again or a tidbit from an acquaintance. My condolences to her father, extended family, close friends, and acquaintances. A villager has left and though her memory remains, none other will build in her plot. Thank you for the portion of your life shared with me and I hope to meet again in glory. Sincerely, Sheldonia Chantal Simmers.

Tanya, I remember your smile greeting us when we came down for our family Labor Day weekends, sometimes you had to work but when you came back you had a plan whether it was movie night, sitting on the deck talking, but I will always remember bowling night I didn't want to go, and you said we'll wait while you get dressed lol, and we had the best time, you always looked out for us, even when you tried to get Aunt Mary to try raw sushi lol, I could go on and on. Tanya I will always remember your smile and your love for family, until we meet again I love you, RIH🌹

To the Lesine family. Please accept my deepest condolences. I'm very sorry to hear about her passing. I'm lifting the family up in prayer. She was such a beautiful and kind young lady. Her smile would light up the room. I still remember seeing her get off and on the school buses on Carter avenue. May God comfort you and give you strength at this time.
