Mr. Robert Charles Cattling, 61, of Gadsden, AL passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Riverview Regional Medical Center.

Robert Charles Cattling was born on August 23, 1962 in Gadsden, AL to the late Sylvester L. Cattling Sr. and the late Bera Bell Cattling.

Robert confessed Christ at an early age and united with Eastside Baptist Church of Altoona, AL. under the pastorship of the late Reverend Tommy Lee Hutchins, of Alexander City, AL.

He graduated from West End High School in Walnut Grove, AL in 1980.

Robert married the love of his life, the late Berta Lucille Crump and to this union two sons was born.

He served in the United States Army in 1983 and 1986, receiving a honorable discharge.

Robert transitioned from this earthly life on September 14, 2023 at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by: His parents, Sylvester L. & Bera Cattling; Wife, Berta Cattling; Sister, Cora Thomas; Brother, George W. Cattling and grandparents, Oscar & Annie Cattling.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories to: Two sons, Ahamad Rhashad and L.B. Cattling of Gadsden, AL; Daughter-in-law, Courtney Cattling of Gadsden, AL; Three granddaughters, Alexis Bishop, I’shiah, and Ensley Cattling, all of Gadsden, AL; Three sisters, Barbara Culp, of Altoona, AL, Annette Coleman of Gadsden, AL, and Vivian Collins of Lincoln, AL; One brother, Sylvester L. Cattling, Jr. of Altoona, AL; One sister-in-law, Jeanette Cattling of Altoona, AL and two brother-in-laws, Anthony Coleman of Gadsden, AL and Bishop James E. Collins of Lincoln, AL. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be 12noon-6pm September 22, 2023 at West Gadsden Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 1pm September 23, 2023 at West Gadsden Funeral Home (Betty Dean Robinson Chapel).
