Lee Otis Lindsey, son of Mack and Bertha Lee Lindsey Colson was born July 31, 1954 in Anson County, NC. He entered into eternal rest of Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Atrium Health-Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC.
He attended the public schools of Anson County and was a graduate of Bowman High School. After graduation, at the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Army and served 3 years. He was Honorably Discharged.
Otis retired from Tyson Foods after working over 30 years. He accepted Christ at an early age at Free Rock Church.
Otis enjoyed spending time with his family, cracking jokes, listening to music, looking at sports on Sunday with his family. He also liked to cook once and a while for his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mack Colson, who raised him; one son, Montez Lindsey; two sisters, Barbara Ann Colson Little and Mary Louise Colson; and one brother, James Arthur Colson.
He was married to Rosa Hall and they shared five (5) children.
Otis leaves to cherish loving memories: son, Jessie T. Hall, daughter, Tameckia D. Hall, son, Calvin Hall all of Wadesboro, NC and son, Xavier Hall of Tennessee; his mother, Bertha Lee Lindsey Colson of Wadesboro, NC; three brothers, Vernon (Brenda) Lindsey of Winston Salem, NC, Edward Colson of Wadesboro, NC and James Alexander Colson of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Angela Colson and Annie Lee Byrd both of Wadesboro, NC; a very special niece, Shonda D. Colson who took great care of him and he took care of her until his health declined; a very close friend and brother-in-law, Larry Hall. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Services will be on Sunday, September 24, 2023, 2:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, North Carolina. The family will greet family and friends from 1:30-2:30pm.
The public viewing will be on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 3:00-5:00pm at Smith Funeral Home.
