Tyrone Lewis Williams was born June 27, 1949, in Millen, Georgia to the late Russell Leon Smyre, Sr. (1976) and Louise Johnson Smyre (1998). He was one of eleven children. He is preceded in death by his brother, Russell Leon Smyre, Jr. (1999), sister Dorothea Goudeau (2022), and joined in death by his brother Allen Williams, Sr. (9/19/23).

Tyrone was blessed with six children: Sons - Tyrone Williams, Jr., and Quanta Perry, Sr.; Daughters, Tawanda Wilson, Chilette Washington, Kirtrina Dixon, and Tyronda Williams.

He graduated from the Academy of Richmond High School and later served in the U.S. Army. He was employed with Kimberly-Clarke until an injury caused him to change careers. Tyrone later worked as security at Fort Gordon.

Tyrone loved gardening, fishing, cooking and dancing.

On September 15, 2023, he left his earthly tabernacle and quietly slipped away to enter his heavenly home. He leaves to mourn his departure; six children; sons, Tyrone Williams, Jr., Quanta Perry Sr. (Demetrist); daughters, Tawanda Wilson (Richard), of El Paso, TX, Chilette Washington (Rickey) of Knightsdale, NC, Kirtrina Dixon of Trenton, SC and Tyronda Williams of Dearing, GA. One brother; Garland Smyre (Bernadette) of Petersburg, Virginia. Six sisters: Deborah Kennedy (Earl), of Killeen, Texas; Cheryl Reed, Clarecia Wright both Hephzibah, GA; Sandra Reed (Oscar) of Augusta, GA, Dorothy Sellers (Raymond), of Blythe, Georgia, and Myrtle Smyre-Lightfoot (Richard) of Stafford, Virginia. One sister-in-law, Beverly Smyre Hines (Jeff), of Hephzibah, Georgia; eleven grandchildren: Quanta Perry, Jr., Alexis Perry, Phyllisa Starks, Ameerah Perry, DeMarcus Washington, Jazmyn Wilson, and Ryan Wilson; four great-grandchildren: Madison Perry, Jayce Washington, Hunter Washington, and Xander Hickman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC) at 2:00 PM.
