Obituary For Rodric Lamorio Smith

Rodric Lamorio Smith, the son of Janie Long Smith and the late Eugene Smith was born May 27, 1976, in Greensboro, North Carolina. He departed this life on September 12, 2023.

He was educated in the Greensboro City School Systems where he was an outstanding baseball, football, and basketball player as well as a track and field athlete.

Rodric was a dedicated long distance truck driver for U.S. Xpress based out of Chattanooga, TN. He was a man of few words, but he was one of a kind. He enjoyed shopping, especially for jerseys and shoes.

Rodric was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ruth Daye Long, maternal grandparents, John Houston “Sim” Long and Katie Bryant Long, paternal grandmother, Willie Mae Smith and paternal grandfather, Henry Smith, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Keshawn C. Smith; a loving mother, Janie Long Smith; one sister, Rochelle McCoy Harper; two nieces, Jayla Harper and Jasmyn Harper; four aunts, Donna Kaye Torian, Shelia Long Fuller (Donnie), Emma Thompson Long, and Helen Long, three uncles, Henry Smith, Jr. (Ruby), Dennis Bryant (Delsie), Derrick Long (Darlene) and a host of cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 12pm Believers Missionary Baptist Church 235 Ward Road Greensboro, NC. Visitation 11:30am.
