DEACON LEVI KILGORE, JR. - Age 71, - Of Dalton, Georgia passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023. He was born October 21, 1951 to the late Levi Kilgore, Sr. and Catherine Irene White Kilgore. He was preceded by his brother, Paul Lewis Kilgore, sisters, Dorothy Lawton, and Beth Shropshire. Levi was retired from Windstream Phone Company after thirty-one years. He was a faithful Deacon of Hopewell Baptist Church, Past President of the N.A.A.C.P., graduated from Dalton High School Class of 1969, and was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran where he was Honorably Discharged.

Survivors are his loving and devoted wife of fifty-one years, Stacie Cobb Kilgore; two sons, Levi Jerone (Jennifer) Kilgore, Quincy Reginald Kilgore; seven grandsons, Adarius, Devery, Jayven, Xavier, Noah Kilgore, Marley, and Mekhi Martin; one sister, Eileen Shoemaker; three brothers-in-law, Oliver (Anita) Cobb, Jr., Prince (Caron) Cobb, Patrick Fields; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives; god ma ma, Geraldine Pero; three special friends, Iva Lee Macon, Michael “Bo Jack” Robinson, Eli Ellington, and other friends.

Homegoing Service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 1:00 P. M. at Hopewell Baptist Church, 3527 Airport Road, Dalton, Georgia 30721 with Elder Windell L. Smith as Eulogist, Rev. Dr. Angela Starling as Presider, and other Ministers officiating. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 after 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M. at the funeral home. Interment, Hopewell Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
