Born Tuesday, September 15, 1942, in Birmingham, Alabama, he was the son of the late Isaac Bankhead and the late Louise Paymon Bankhead. Surviving are sons, Jonathan Bankhead of Cordova, TN and Joseph Lee Bankhead, Jr., daughters, Monique L Bankhead and Nicole McCoy, brother, Isaac S Bankhead, Jr., sisters, Marie Agee, Hattie Bankhead, Willie Bankhead, and Elaine DuBose; 9 grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Balmoral Baptist Church, 2676 Kirby Road, Memphis, Tennessee.
