Mr. Bruce Macon, of Gadsden, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

Obituary

Bruce Macon began his life’s journey on May 22, 1984 to Mr. Bruce Hill and Claudia M. Macon.

He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and united with the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church under the pastorship of Reverend Herman L. Spruill.

He was educated in the Gadsden City School System. He played football for the Eastside Eagles and baseball, basketball in high school.

He worked for Cagels in Collinsville, AL and later gained employment with Tyson Foods.

He loved his family and loved for everyone to be happy and laughter was his specialty.

On Friday, September 22, 2023, he answered the Master’s call.

He was preceded in death by: His great-grandparents, the late Erwin & Adolphni Niessner, Zusmashausin, Germany; Grandparents, Barbara A. Hill, of Gadsden, AL, James Macon, of Gadsden, AL and Sereal Lay of Kentucky and beautiful aunt, Cassandra M. Hill.

Those left to cherish his beautiful memories are: His loving mother, Claudia M. Macon; Father, Bruce Hill of Gadsden, AL; A handsome son, Timothy Jackson Smith of Gadsden, AL; His sister, Carmen Nicole Macon of Gadsden, AL; Grandmother, Gertrud Macon of Gadsden, AL, Aunts, Martha Fredrick Norman, Carmen Macon Guinn of Gadsden, AL, Veronica Lorraine Macon of Wetumpka, AL, Barbra, Urban Cross, Kosciusko, MS; Uncles. Daniel E. Macon of Gadsden, AL, Sereal Lay Jr. and Talmage Lay of Lexington, Kentucky; Six close cousins that were like sisters and brothers, Claudia Andreas Myles of Killeen, TX, Dontavious Macon, Domenick Macon, Sieglinde Macon of Oxford, AL, Daniel, Verna Terrell of Gadsden, AL and Cory McGee; Three special close friends, Isaiha Spears, Derrick Curry and Willie McCray and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be Friday, September 29, 2023 from 12noon-6pm.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 30, 2023 at West Gadsden Funeral Home (Betty D. Robinson Chapel) at 3:30pm.

Interment: Lincoln Hills Memorial Gardens
