Viola (Sue) Elizebeth Alford Joseph was born September 6, 1944 in Arcardia, FL. She was the daughter of Mr. John Wesley Alford, Sr. and Mrs. Thelena Barr Alford (both deceased). She was one of nine (9) children.

She moved to Sarasota with her parents and siblings when she was a young child. She attended school in Sarasota County.

She worked with the Sarasota County School System in the Food Service Department where she retired from after thirty (30) years and then worked at Sarasota County Vocational Tech as custodian and retired in 2006.

She was a faithful member of Truvine Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years. She was known and loved by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memories two (2) sons, Michael Dewayne Alford, St.

Petersburg, FL and Anthony Keith Yancy, Sarasota, FL; two daughters, Rosalind Shelena Hanson, Orangeburg, SC and Crystal Yolanda Barrett, Sarasota, FL. Seven grandchildren, Kalea, Damien, Jesspca, Lauren, Jordan, Jasmine and Robert, six great grandchildren, Kaylie, Larych, Kyndelle, Riley, Legand & Myliah; four sisters, Mildred Gunshy, St. Petersburg, FL, Lauretta Brown, Shirley Alford, Sarasota, FL & Theresa Spearman, Windsor, SC; two brothers, nton Wesley Alford, Jr. (Katie) Sarasota, FL and Jimmy Alford, Windsor, SC and Uncles, Aunts, Cousins & Friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Fri., Sept, 29, 2023 at Jones Funeral Home. Services will be held 1:00pm on Sat., Sept. 30, 2023 at Truvine Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be held at Galilee Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.
