Nachaea Danielle Hammond, known to most as "Nicky", was born to Sammie and Michele Hammond in La Mesa, California, on May 19, 1978, the eldest of two children. She was a 1996 graduate of Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama and continued her education at Chattahoochee Valley Community College and the University of West Alabama.
Nicky worked diligently as a Manager with Elevance Health (Blue Cross/Blue Shield) for many years, mentoring many to aspire to excellence in the pursuit of professional development during the course of the provision of exemplary customer service.
Nicky rededicated her life to the Messiah as a young adult, and has served with faithfulness and great tenacity, from a young child to adulthood, in numerous capacities in various churches, (Grace Missionary Baptist Church in California, Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, Franchise Missionary Baptist Church, Love Life Ministries, in Alabama, and Cathedral of Prayer COGIC, ReVamp Church and finally, Refuge Church International in Columbus, Georgia.) She also supported the ministries of many others, wherever needed. Her ministry work included participating in children's, youth and adult choirs, praise teams, serving as Worship Leader, Church Administrator, Teacher and Minister. Nicky served with her whole heart and loved her Refuge Church International Pastor and church family.
Nicky loved her parents and her sister, Dee Dee, her best friend, and spending time with them at home, traveling and worshipping together. An addition to the family included her godson, Carlton Tynes IV, whom she loved dearly. Above all, she loved the Most High and shared her faith wherever and with whomever she could. Her heartfelt desire until the day she left this world to be in the presence of the Most High was for her family and friends to be saved.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Sammie and Lizzie Hammond, and Curtis and Lula Scott.
She will be forever cherished in memory by her devoted parents, Sammie and Michele Hammond, her loving sister, Dominique Hammond, her loving aunt, Curtessa (Anthony) Smith, her godson, Carlton Tynes IV and his mother, Antonia Angel Colon, her uncle, Cary (Sabrina) Hammond, her pastor, Pastor NaTasha S. Rockmore and her Refuge church family, as well as a myriad of cousins, other relatives, co-workers and friends.
