The funeral services for the late Miss Kevia Gross, who departed this life on Monday, October 2, 2023 in Ashburn, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. from the Madison Avenue Church of God by Faith in Ashburn, Georgia. Elder Ulysses Teague will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Sister Kevia Bernarda Gross was born in Tifton, Georgia on April 29, 1994 to Ms. Precious Retonda Douglas and Mr. Kevin Bernard Gross.

Kevia grew up in Turner County with her parents and siblings. She was an active, talented, and smart child. She attended schools in the Turner County Public School System and graduated with Honors from Turner County High School in 2012. Kevia further her education by attending Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia, and Armstrong College in Savannah, Georgia, but later came home to work at CVS Pharmacy and R&M Pharmacy. She attended Southern Regional Technical College in Tifton, Georgia, where she earned an Associate Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, and 2022, she earned another Associate Degree from Southern Regional as a Surgical Technician. Kevia was presented enrolled at Albany State University in Albany, Georgia for the upcoming Winter Quarter.

Kevia gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined the Madison Avenue Church of God by Faith, where she served faithfully in many capacities until her passing. Kevia was a woman who understood the value of working for what you want out of life, as she was employed as a Surgical Technician at Southwell Hospital in Tifton, Georgia, and was also the owner of Blemished Photography Studios and Brushes and Ink Craft Studios.

Kevia was known for her forthcoming attitude and personality, and cooperative spirit. To really know her was to love her. But above all she loved God and she will be sadly missed, especially by her family.

Our Beloved Kevia slept away in the loving arms of the Most High God on October 2, 2023, at her home. She was preceded in death by her sister, Xandria Horne, maternal grandparents, Ms. Delores Douglas and Reverend Robert Douglas, her maternal great grandmothers, Mrs. Winnie Jones (“Big Mama”), Rosa Mae Douglas, her maternal great grandfathers, Alex Young, Jack Douglas, Sr.; her paternal great grandmothers, Ms. Bertha Harden, Mrs. Leona H. Taylor ("Muh”), paternal great grandfathers, Mr. Richard Harden, Mr. Willis Taylor I.

Kevia leaves to mourn her passing, but always cherishing her memory, her mother, Mrs. Precious R. Douglas Horne of Ashburn, GA; her father, Mr. Kevin Bernard Gross of Jonesboro, GA; her bonus father, Mr. Xavier Horne of Ashburn, GA; her grandmother, Mrs. Patricia Ann Horne; her siblings, Mr. Kevian Douglas, Ms. Precious Boyd, both of Ashburn, GA, Sgt. Jameel Sanders of Ft. Stewart, Hinesville, GA, Xavier Horne II of Fitzgerald, GA,; her paternal grandparents, Ms. Mary D. Taylor of Ashburn, GA, Mr. LeRoy Gross of Cincinnati, OH; paternal great grandfather, Preston Holmes, Jr.; aunts and uncles, Mrs. Debora (Elder James) Patterson, Minister Renee Douglas, Mrs. Winnie Douglas (Ronnie) Brown, Rev. Christopher Douglas, all of Ashburn, GA, Mr. Christopher (Cynthia) Gross, Mrs. Melody J. (L’Veski) Parker of Ashburn, GA, Mr. Marlon L. Gross of Huntsville, AL, Ms. Carolyn Sanders of New Haven, CT, Robert Douglas, Jr. of Jefferson City, MO, Erica Douglas, Corey Douglas, both of Sylvester, Georgia, Tre'von Horne, Preston (Tanya) Horne, both of Tifton, GA; three godchildren, Jaleel Rucker, Javan Rucker, Jr., Olivia Walker; nieces and nephews, Peyton, Ava, Jameel, Jr., Jace, Xavier, Jeremy, Arajii, Alayah; god parents, Elder Ulysses Teague and Lady Shirley Teague; a close friend, Jaivius Parker; and a host of other relatives, co-workers, and sorrowing friends.
