The funeral services for the late Mrs. Ardene Chevers, who departed this life on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Madison Avenue Church of God by Faith in Ashburn, Georgia. Pastor Reginald Chever will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Red Oak Cemetery in Warwick, Georgia. Mrs. Ardene Chever was born on July 28, 1931 in Worth County, Georgia to the late Mrs. Tossie Lee Rowe and the late Mr. Ginny Wright.
Ardene was educated in the Worth County Public School System at that time.
Ardene gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined the Charity Grove Baptist Church in Doles, Georgia.
Ardene was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Ulyess Chever, Sr. She was blessed with ten children.
Ardene worked at R & M Drug Store in Ashburn, Georgia for several years. Ardene was a loving and caring person to everyone that she came in contact with. She also enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing, and fellowshipping with friends and family. She was also known for driving fast “Hot Rod” cars. Her saying was to “Let It Roll!” Ardene was a jokester and always had a comical word for everyone.
Our Loved One heard the Master call for her to “Come and take your rest, my child” on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia. Her parents, her husband, a daughter, Mary Helen Davis, a sister, Elnora Rodgers, and a brother, Alphonzo Rowe, have all preceded her in death.
Ardene leaves to cherish her memories her children, Solomon F. (Salome) Rowe of Madison, Georgia, Calvin (Emma) Chever of Albany, Georgia, Robert L. Chever, Ulyess Chever, Jr., Fedrick J. Chever, all of Ashburn, Georgia, Melvin (Peggy) Chever of Cordele, Georgia, Albert Chever of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Gloria Chever of Ellenwood, Georgia, Patrick O. Chever of Nashville, Tennessee, twenty-six grandchildren, sixty-one great grandchildren, thirty-two great great grandchildren; her sisters, Eldora Shipp of Gary, Indiana, Annie Lou Nichols of Atlantic City, New Jersey; a brother, Robert (Peggy) Rowe of Tifton, Georgia; a grandson whom she raised as one of her own children, Alphonzel Chever of Ashburn, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and sorrowing friends.
