Minister Victor Lamont Hairston, 60 of Pine Hall, NC passed Sunday October 15, 2023. Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. The family will receive friends Friday, October 20, 2023, from 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Pine Hall Missionary Baptist Church, 1416 Pole Bridge Road, Pine Hall, NC with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Minister Victor Lamont Hairston transitioned to his heavenly home on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Victor was born on January 26, 1963 to the late James McCoy Hairston and Sallie Webster Hairston.

He graduated from South Stokes High School in 1981. During high school he played basketball, football and baseball. Upon graduation he pursued a career in high rise window cleaning. In 1989 Victor got in trouble and was incarcerated for 20 years. While incarcerated he turned his life to Christ. Victor began to write gospel plays and directed them before being released. When he was released in 2009 he continued directing his gospel plays at the local churches in Walnut Cove, NC. Victor met the love of his life, Amanda Hatcher in 2009 at Revelation of Faith Church in Madison, NC. They united in marriage on June 19, 2010. In 2013 Victor began working at Powell Acquisition Company as a receiving manager where he worked for 9 years. After leaving Powell in 2022 he began working at Hodge also known as John Deere as a track and cab tech also known as a fork lift operator. May 2023 Victor began working at Guilford Technical Community College as a part time occupation instructor until his motorcycle accident in June.

He accepted his calling to the ministry and rendered his initial sermon at City of Refuge in Refuge in Reidsville, NC in April of 2014. After accepting the call of ministry he immediately began prison ministry. In 2016 Victor began his outreach ministry in Reidsville, NC. In his free time he loved going to the drag strip and watching the races. He also loved to ride his motorcycle. Victor was a member of Southern Triad Area Riders (STAR).

In addition to his parents; Mr. and Mrs. James M. Hairston, he was also preceded in death by his sons; Jamal Lamont Hairston and Victor Lamont Hairston, Jr. Brother; Tommie McCoky Hairston, sister; Georgia Faye Hairston, nephew; Antwon Hairston. Paternal grandparents; William Byrd and Minnie Hairston, maternal grandparents; Alfred Webster and Lillie Goolsby.

Victor leaves to cherish his legacy: wife; Amanda Hairston of the home. Daughters; Danielle Fitzgerald of Greensboro, NC, Kanisha Hairston of Kernersville, NC Lesha Pritchett (Anthony) of Stoneville, NC. Sons; Brandon Whitehead of Walnut Cove, NC, Darrell Scales (Breana) of Eden, NC and Jacob Scales of the home. Eight grandchildren; Shyasia Crouch, Saniyah Littlejohn both of Greensboro, NC, Darrell Scales of Eden, NC, Keonte Hairston of Kernersville, NC, Anthony Pritchett, Jr. of Stoneville, NC, Arianna Whitehead, Kyrie Whitehead, Jada Cardwell all of Walnut Cove, NC. Brother; Alfred Hairston (Linda) of Walnut Cove, NC, sisters; Ava Galloway (Larry) of Winston Salem, NC, Wanda Hairston of Walnut Cove, NC. Aunt; Shirley Brooks of Walkertown, NC. Five godchildren; Alicia Wall, Alyssa Wall, Abigail Wall, King Smith, Chosen Smith, a host of nieces, nephews and 2 special friends, Johnny McKnight and Daryl Penn.
