The funeral services for the late Ms. Hilda Hall, who departed this life on Friday, October 20, 2023, will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia. Reverend Jerome Pace, Pastor, will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Ms. Hilda Hall, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eddie and Retha B. Hall, was born on January 22, 1933 in the city of Ashburn, Georgia.
Ms. Hilda was educated in the Turner County Public School System and graduated from Eureka Elementary and High School in 1953. Hilda furthered her education by attending Ben Hill-Irwin Technical School, where she obtained her certification in Nursing. Hilda was eager to start working, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Ewing allowed her to come into their home at the age of 16 to work. After obtaining her Nursing certification, Hilda worked at Turner County Hospital, where she later retired after thirty years of service. Ms. Hilda gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia.
Ms. Hilda was a humble lady, a family lady who loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, friends and anyone who encountered her. She was “Mu Dear” to her children, family and friends and touched the hearts of many. She will be truly missed.
Ms. Hilda gave up this busy walk of life on Friday, October 20, 2023. Her parents, a son, Chris Calvin, a brother, Climmie Hall, three sisters, Edwina Sanders, Retha Lue Black, and Blanche Thomas, two sons-in-law, James Fowler, Ricky K. Rhodes, have all preceded her in death.
Ms. Hilda leaves to cherish her memories her children, Brenda (Clarence) Ellington, Geraldine Fowler, Gwendolyn (Aaron) Holmes, Larry Hall, Reginald Johnson, all of Ashburn Georgia, Thajuana Rhodes of Atlanta, Georgia; her bonus children, Lillian Burgess, Carol Hobbs, Lloyd Ewing, Linda Currington, all of Ashburn, Georgia, Johnny Ewing, Julie Hunt, both of Tifton Georgia, Lewis Gamble of Atlanta, Georgia; thirty-six grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren, nineteen great great grandchildren; a devoted cousin, Rose Lee Felton; two special friends, Laura Burgess, Dr. Gwendolyn Mathis; and a host of other relatives and friends.
