Mr. Eugene Daniels

Mr. Eugene Daniels, Sr., received the gift of life on September 26, 1936, in Campbellton, Florida to the late Willie C. Daniels and Lee Anne Russ. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 27, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. He was 87 years old.

“Bear Cat” as he was affectionately known was educated in the public schools of Jackson County. Eugene accepted Christ into his life at an early age and joined New Bethel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. He served as an Elder, Steward, Sunday School Superintendent, and sang in the choir. He worked as a farmer and later retired from Unimac as a forklift driver. Eugene went on to become owner and operator of Eugene & Son Lawn Services.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Daniels; two children, Gary Daniels and Sandy “Kale” Daniels; and five siblings, Edward Daniels, Mattie Ruth Smith, Cliff Dickens, Gladys Richardson, and Dorothy Porter.
He leaves treasured memories with his children, Eugene Daniels, Jr., of Newark, New Jersey, Milton Daniels of Campbellton, Florida, Debra Gordon and husband, Bobby, of Mt. Clair, New Jersey, Karan Daniels and wife, Darlene, of Campbellton, Florida, Sharon Saulter and husband, Earl, of Quincy, Florida, Twila Roulhac and husband, Dexter Campbellton, Florida, Gloria Swails and husband, Ervin, of Pensacola, Florida, Kim Curry of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Vickie Speights and husband, Kenneth, of Blountstown, Florida; daughter-in-law, Kim Daniels of Orlando, Florida; one sister, Janice Ward of Howell, New Jersey; special nieces, Earlene Benton of Campbellton, Florida, Charla and Clara Ward of Howell, New Jersey, and Dorothy Jean Godwin; 36 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, November 4th at 2p.m. at New Bethel CME Church where Reverend Oscar Massey is Pastor and Reverend Earnestine Daniels, Reverend Aventer Gray, Dr. Earl Jackson and Reverend Earl Saulter will be officiating. Interment will follow in the St.Paul/New Bethel Church Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, November 03, 2023 at Peoples Funeral Home from 3 to 6 pm. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until funeral time at 2:00 PM
