Mr. Willie James Davis, Sr.

Willie James Davis, Sr., was born October 17, 1946, in Money, Mississippi to James Willie Davis and Vennie Carpenter Davis. He served his country in the United States Army, retiring honorably as a Master Sergeant in 1986. Willie James was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Bobby Patterson, serving as a Trustee. But most importantly, Willie James leaves the legacy of being a beloved son, loving brother, devoted father, caring uncle, giving grandfather, wonderful great grandfather, and friend to his family.

Willie James transitioned October 28, 2023, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville, Arkansas at the age of 77.

Willie James was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Terry Wayne Davis, and Joseph Carpenter, a grandson, Jawon Davis

He leaves to cherish precious memories three sons, W.D. (Brenda) Mixon of Youngstown, Ohio; James (Jennifer) Mixon of Zanesville, Ohio; and Willie Davis, Jr. of Lake Charles, Louisiana; two daughters, Karen Davis of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and Toni (Tommy) Cormier of Katy, Texas; two brothers, Bishop Roy (Lisa) Davis of Memphis, Tennessee; and Sammy ( Willa) Davis also of Memphis, Tennessee; nine sisters, Ellen(Bishop ML) Smith of Gosnell, Arkansas; Billie Brown of Blytheville, Arkansas; Bobbie (Superintendent Jonathan) Platt of Wichita, Kansas; Jeanette (Charles) Nolden of Blytheville, Arkansas; Martha (Ronnie) Thomas of Memphis, Tennessee; Linda Davis of Blytheville, Arkansas; Peggy (Dexter) Anderson of Blytheville, Arkansas; Debra (Reed) Wheeler of Hannibal, Missouri; and Vernice Campbell also of Blytheville, Arkansas; a special friend, Linda Gamble of Blytheville, Arkansas; 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, in the chapel of McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, 1207 South Division Street, Blytheville, Arkansas from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November4, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 920 South Lake Street, Blytheville, Arkansas where Bishop Bobby Patterson is the pastor. Bishop Roy Davis will deliver the eulogy. Interment and Military Honors will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Blytheville, Arkansas.
