Latoya Linette Yancey

The funeral services for the late Mrs. Latoya Linette Yancey, who departed this life on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. from the Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Ashburn, Georgia. The Reverend Daryll Bryant will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Mrs. Latoya Linette West Yancey was welcomed into this world on May 14, 1991, at Tift Regional Hospital in Tifton, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Tommy West and Mrs. Willene West Crockett.

Latoya was educated in the Turner County Public School System, and graduated from Turner County Public High School. While at Turner County High, Latoya was a member of the 4-H Club, and was an Honor Student. After graduation from high school, Latoya attended Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia, majoring in Computer Science.

Latoya was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Jermaine Yancey.

Latoya served her Ashburn, Georgia community by working as Dispatcher for the Turner County Police Department for three years. Her most recent job was working at World Finance in Ashburn, Georgia, until her transitioning.

Latoya loved experimenting with her glamorous makeups and cosmetics, which was her part-time passion. On Thursday, November 2, 2023, Latoya’s life journey came to an end at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Her father, Tommy Lee West, and her sister, Shaketa Lashae West, have both preceded her in death.

Latoya will forever be remembered and cherished by her husband, Jermaine Yancey; her daughter, Emerald Ruby West; her loving and devoted mother, Willene (Ricardo) Crockett of Ashburn, Georgia; her grandmother, Corine (Elsa) Scott of Sycamore, Georgia; her brother, Reginald Hudson of Ashburn, Georgia; her mother-in-law, Josie Mae Yancey; a host of aunts and uncles; four nieces, Lakiya Lachae West, Jazmine Crawford, Abrianna Mashae Crawford, Talia Whitfield; a special friend, Jessica Robinson; cousins, Mia Daniel, Bri Hall, both of Ocilla, Georgia; and a host of other relatives and many, many sorrowing friends.
