Barbara Jean Coleman

Barbara Jean Lee was born on November 16,1956 to Imogene Thompson Lee and Fate Lee in East Anglia, England.

At an early age, she joined Greater Sardis Baptist Church in Ozark, Alabama. Barbara graduated from Carroll High School in Ozark, AL. She was the first African American Gospel radio DJ to publish in a magazine. She later pursued a career as a mortician.

Barbara departed this life on Sunday, April 10, 2022. She was proceeded in death by her first husband Lanny Paul and second husband Jimmy Coleman.

She leaves to cherish a devoted husband: Phillip McGriff of Dothan, AL; one son, Eolores (Monica) Paul; four daughters, Sherbronkery Paul, Imogene Paul, Isham Paul and Yayha Paul, all of Dothan, AL; one stepson, Roderick (Keisha) Linder, Newton, AL; one sister, Judy (William) Cepheus, of Texas; 16 grandchildren, Quintavis (Shabreya) Paul, Yahweh Paul, Chiann Paul, Jamaui Paul, Nathaniel Whitaker, Joshua Downs, Gary Horne, Alicia Paul, Geona Horne, GeMontae Horne, Ezayvia Paul, Malachi Paul, Ebonie Paul, Essence Thomas, Kamaurya Beaty, Aniya Beaty, all of Dothan, AL; six great grandchildren; six children in Christ, Carlicia (Byron) Kelly, Greg English, Christopher (Lynn) Fabris, all of Dothan, AL; Allen (Christy) Wilson, Marianna, FL; Gregory Fabris and Keith Wilder of Ozark, AL; one brother in Christ, Johnny Trawick, Dothan, AL. She also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Greater Sardis Cemetery, Ozark, Alabama.
