Home going celebration for Mr. Robert Eugene Scott, 67, of Talladega will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023, at Belview Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Timothy Caldwell will deliver the eulogy. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Scott will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be held from 1-6 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

Eugene Scott and Mary Lee (neé Williams) Scott welcomed the first of their five sons on January 9, 1956, in Talladega, Alabama. He was given the name Robert Eugene. He would later be joined by Billy, Lamont, Anthony and Kenneth.

Robert was a lifelong member of Belview Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated in the Talladega City Schools having attended Westside and Talladega High School. He was employed as a technician with ATAP for many years. Robert enjoyed playing baseball, tailgating, cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide and was a self-proclaimed grill master. He would often profess that his BBQ was the best you would ever taste and guaranteed to fall off the bone. He was a member of the 26th St. Christmas Savings Club. On February 2, 2023, he and the former Robin M. Garrett were united in holy matrimony.

Robert’s love and infectious smile will be missed by his loving wife, Robin Scott; three children, Andrea (Steven) Groce, Stacy Phillips and Corlis Pope (Tra’Nike Braxton); sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two brothers, Lamont (Tonya) Scott and Anthony (Marilyn) Scott; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Robert began quietly began his eternal journey on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 7, 2023, with his family by his side. He was preceded on this road to eternity by his parents, Eugene and Mary Lee Scott; two brothers, Billy Scott and Kenneth Scott; and a granddaughter, Kiara S. Chatman.
