Mrs. Sara L. Naylor, 85, of Albany, Georgia departed this life on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Wynfield Park Health & Rehabilitation in Albany, Georgia. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Friendship Baptist Church, 400 Pine Ave, Albany, Georgia 31701.
Sara (Lee) Naylor was born on September 25, 1938, to Carrie Woods and Albert Lee in Albany, Georgia.
She lived her life in Albany, Georgia.
Sara attended Monroe High School in Albany, Georgia. During her high school years, in 1953, her best friend Leslie Green introduced her to Odell Naylor and their courtship began. Odell and Sara
married (3) years later on October 28, 1956. To this union (3) children were born: Tondalaria, Michele Diane, and Odell Naylor, Jr.
Sara continued her education at Monroe Area Vocational Technical school where she earned her license as an LPN and worked at Dr. Shirley’s office. A few years later, she began working at Phoebe Hospital where she worked for (13) years. Sara decided to continue her education and attended Darton College where she earned her associate degree as a Registered Nurse. Once she graduated from
Darton College as an RN, she worked for Firestone, Turner Job Corp (Albany, GA); and Autry State Prison (Pelham, GA). She retired from Autry State Prison in 1988.
Sara was a lifetime member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Sara Naylor entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 16, 2023. Sara was preceded in death by her mother, Carrie Woods; her father, Albert Lee; two (2) brothers, Jerry Lee and Bobby Lee; brother-in-law, Albert Sloan.
Sara leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Odell Naylor, Sr. of Albany, GA; her daughters, Tondalaria Fuller of Clarksville, TN and Michele Diane Louis of Clarksville, TN; her son, Odell Naylor,
Jr. of Greensboro, GA; three sisters, Bessie Willis of Albany, GA, Emma Lilian Sloan, and Clementine McFarland (William Edward); two brothers, Reverend Albert Lee, III (Runette), and Ricky Christopher Lee, JD; seven grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
