LEBEAU - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic in Lebeau, LA for Mr. Alexis Dewey Chambers, 84, affectionately known by his family and friends as "Dewey", who entered eternal rest on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Rev. Wilondja Kikanda, SSJ will be officiating the funeral mass.

Mr. Chambers’ memories are being cherished by: his two sons, Alexis D. (Doris) Chambers, Jr. of Palmetto, LA and Melvin (Karen) Chambers of Opelousas, LA; four daughters, Debby Chambers (James), Racqueal Monique Chambers and Appollonia Chambers, all of Lebeau, LA and Gwendolyn Kyle (Larry) of Morrow, LA; one sister, Barbara Ford of Washington, LA; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his spouse, Mary Chambers; his parents, Sherman and Edna Chenevert Chambers; two daughters, Dianne Miles and JoAnn Chambers; one brother, Louis Chambers; and two sisters, Mary Jane Smith and Lorena Eagleton.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
