Eula Mae Dunbar, 93, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2023, at Westchester Manor in High Point, NC, where she was under the Hospice Care of the Piedmont. She was born on September 16, 1930, to Americus Dunbar, Sr., and Hurley Martin Dunbar.
Eula was affectionately called "Sista" by family and friends. She attended William Penn High School and was employed at National Spring Factory and Royal Development until retiring.
Eula was a and dedicated member of Brookhaven Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ellis McLendon. She actively supported the church until her health declined.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Matthew Dunbar, Americus Dunbar, Jr. and Robert Edward Dunbar; niece, Ladonna Dunbar; and nephew, Ulysess Oglesby, Jr.
Eula leaves to cherish her memories: son, Jerome (Bonita Dean) Dunbar of Greensboro, NC; one brother, Richard L. Dunbar of Warner Robbins, GA; two sisters, Delores Oglesby and Diane Baker of High Point, NC; one grandson, Brandon Dunbar of Houston, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
