I remember when I moved to Maryland 18 years ago from New York she reached out to me with kindness. All that mattered to her is that I was a Kearse and she was one of my closer related cousins. She was one of the vanguards of organizing our family reunions and the last time I saw her was at the 2008 reunion and the last we spoke was last year about the next reunion. She was always kind to me. That is what I will remember. May she rest in peace. My prayers are with her husband, children and grandchildren suddenly and tragically without their wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many Willow. Peace be with you.

- Miriam

This is a true loss for the Kearse nation. The New Jersey family pray for our extended family during their time of grief. We will truly miss the beautiful spirit of our sister, mother, cousin, aunt, wife, and daughter in Christ.

As a former high school classmate, I pen these words of sympathy in memory of my friend Willa Dean. She was one who could truly make me laugh uncontrollably. May the cherished memories of your mother, grandmother and sister bring you inner peace and comfort knowing that it is God Himself Who can sustain you in this hour of grief. May you also find solace In the words of St. Paul, 'To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!' And, may she live forever in your hearts.

Willow, as your Cousin, I've always had and will always keep BIG LOVE FOR YOU!!! From the moment We Hooked up, and YOU, DAPHNE and I started working together on OUR YEARLY KEARSE FAMILY REUNIONS all around the USA so many years ago, all was good. We had our differences sometimes, but We were always able to work them out and succeed at what We had to get done. On this Day, I Pray that Our FAMILY will continue to maintain OUR CLOSENESS as always, and continue to be there for each other. MAY THE CREATOR RECEIVE YOU AND CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU AND ALL OF US, FOREVER!!!

Mother was an amazingly strong willed woman. Perseverance, tenacious, god fearing, and family first are just a few key characteristics my mother embodied. She was a trailblazer in her own right. A wonderful mom to my siblings and I. She always displayed so much love to her grandkids. She will be sorely missed by all of us.

As 'GOD'S WILL BE DONE,' we had another Kearse Cousin to pass away on the exact same day that you did. Her name was Odessa 'Deana' Kearse. She was my 1st Cousin and she lived here in the Philadelphia area. The Family asked for my participation in preparing her Homegoing Service and writing her Obituary. Ironically enough, your Service and hers are being held on the same day, at approximately the same time. So that will prevent me from attending both, but I have asked my son Malik, who lives in Charlotte, to attend your Homegoing Service and represent me and our many other family members who can not attend. We all LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS, AND THAT'S FOREVER!!! Your Cousin, Bro. Zawdie Abdul-Malik, National President, The Kearse Family, USA

I met Willow 10 years ago when I began working at Surratsville High School. We became friends instantly and I knew then that she was a very special woman. We've stayed in touch and no matter how much time passed between visits, we always picked up as though we saw each other everyday. She made me laugh and I loved her. My deepest sympathy to her family, I know that her heart and soul belonged to her children, grandchildren, and great grands. She was so proud of each of you, and I know she cherished her extended family as well. Bless you all and may you find comfort during this difficult time.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Willow. She was a beautiful, youthful Lady that always had a joke and a smile. While I hadn't seen her in a number of years, my last memories of hanging out with her were awesome. She came to Atlanta and we had a great time. For a few years after that, people would ask me when I was bringing my mother back to to town. That's how she lived - in the moment and always left an impression. I love Mrs. Willow as she was my own mother and she will be terribly missed by all. #RIP Beautiful Lady...

Words cannot adequately express what I am feeling right now. You and I had such plans for our time in Syracuse in July. Things won't be the same with you not being there, I have enjoyed our times together, our phone calls, text messages, emails and instant messages. We kept our communication line open. I will miss you very much. You were what family is all about and I am glad that we had the time together that we had. Family, I have you in my prayers and plan to make the 3 hour drive to Apex to be with you. Much love. Cynthia Orr-Ware
