OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ, 1606 W. College Ave., Opelousas, LA for Mr. Chester Harris, Jr., affectionately known by his family and friends as “Rickey”, 64, who entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 23, 2023 in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be at Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Rev. Gerald Toussaint, Pastor of Morning Star Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA, will be officiating the funeral service. Rev. Frank L. Ford serves as Pastor of Community Chapel Church of God In Christ.

Mr. Harris’ memories are being cherished by: his wife, Janice Toussaint Harris of Carencro, LA; five sons, Kenji Maurice Hawkins and Lateddious Amore, both of Alexandria, LA, Demarcus Green of Dallas, TX, Lawrence Toussaint and Justin Toussaint, both of Carencro, LA; one daughter, Latonya Gill of Fort Liberty, NC; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Chester Harris, Sr. and Amy Deloris Miles; one brother, Gregory Lester Harris; and one sister, Debra Ann Harris Rochon.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ.
