I would like to offer my condolences to the Mitchell family. 96 years is quite an accomplishment according to the Bible (Psalm 90:10) and I know Lena has left you with many precious memories and will be greatly missed. Hopefully this scripture will give you comfort because Jehovah God (Psalm 83:18) is promising us he will do away with man's worst enemy, death. This is found for us at Rev. 21: 4; 'And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.' The Bible also enlightens us at Hebrews 2:14 'so that through his (Jesus) death, he (Jesus) might bring to nothing the one having the means to cause death, that is , the Devil.' God's kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for at Matthew 6: 9, 10 will bring about these wonderful promises including the resurrection. John 6: 40 tells us: 'For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who recognizes the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him on the last day.' Also, Titus 1: 2 tells us this promise of a resurrection: 'is based on a hope of the everlasting life that God, who cannot lie, promised long ago. Isaiah 26:19 'Your dead will live......And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life.' Isaiah 25:8 'He will swallow up death forever. For Jehovah himself has spoken it.' This is a wonderful promise made to us by our heavenly father and I pray it brings you comfort and hope. Jehovah invites you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in your time of grief. Again, I offer my sincere condolences to the family. I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. There is a very comforting scrioture found at Isaiah 25:8. It says that soon Jehovah will swallow up death forever and that he will wipe away all of the tears. So we can look forward to a time when death is done away with forever. I hope that this scripture can bring some true comfort during this time.

Robert,Todd,& Lilly Mae My mother loved Aunt Lena like a sister and I like she was blood. I don't remember a time in my childhood when she was not there as a backdrop in my life. I grieve with you but know she is on a higher plane with Sis and Bro James.
