My prayers go out to the family, may the peace of Christ give you comfort.

- Sylvia Smith Person

May the peace of God present itself with you during this difficult time. Riley would visit Kinston and set the house on fire. Riley was a praiser and I believe that if he auditions for the praise team in glory, he will be a praise leader there. His praise, smile and tenacity have affected many.

- Dr. Thomas Stewart

Riley, I'm so very sorry to hear of your transition. You lite up everything around you. You brought so much joy to many lives. I will cherish our college years together in 1983. I was so very happy the day I opened my mail and receive an announcement that you had gone back to NCSU to finish your degree!! You said you were going to do it and I believed you would; however, that's just another phase of your determination, strength & personality. Your vivid sense of humor, that big ole Colgate smile and your preppy dressing self will always be so dear to me. I recall us both competing in our dress and grades. We have had some really good times together and we laughed about us majoring in the same thing then we decide to dedicate our lives to Christ....then you went for marriage. You know we Encouraged each other so much and I remember the day like yesterday when you called to tell me your health were failing....we cried, we prayed and believed God for a Divine Healing. Now you got your wings so Rest Peacefully In God's Arms!! My True College Friend & Brother For LIFE...I will miss you my buddy!! Love Always, 'Bren-Bren' aka Samuel & Brenda Alston, Jr.

I'm truly sorry to hear about your recent loss. It is a very difficult time; but I hope you can find some comfort in the words of Nahum 1:7 which reads: 'Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of distress. He is mindful of those seeking refuge in him.' Yes, we can totally rely on our Loving God. He also has made the sure promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11, 29, Isaiah 55:11). Then death will be gone forever (Isaiah 25:8; Revelation 21:3,4) Find out more about this resurrection online at JW.ORG

Please accept my sincere condolences. It is a very difficult time; but I hope you can find some comfort in the words of 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4, which reads: “3 Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God.” Yes, we can totally rely on our Loving God. He also has made the sure promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11, 29, Isaiah 55:11). Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. Take comfort in the knowledge that Almighty God has prepared a future for the human family where those in God's memory have the prospect of a life on earth without the cloud of pain sickness or death. Psalms 37;10,11&29 and Revelation 21;4
