Funeral service for Eva Ashmore, 78, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 11, 2023, at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2000 South Uniroyal Road, Opelika, AL 36801 with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, Reverend Dr. George C. McCulloh, Pastor and Officiating, Reverend Johnny Nelms, Eulogist

Mrs. Ashmore, who passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL, was born August 18, 1945 in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mrs. Ashmore will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, William “Bill” Ashmore of Opelika, AL; five daughters, Marietta (MC) Reeves, Ann (Ray) Thomas, Wanda (Jonathon) Gullatte, Demetrius (Everette) Paul all of Opelika, AL and Jacqueline “Jackie” Baker (Michael Mills) of Georgetown, GA; grandchildren, Shanavis Freeman, Adrain Freeman, LaShareka Edwards, Demetrus Walker, Quintavis Edwards, Natavia Walker, Calvin Edwards, Jayla (Devion) Wimberly, DeAngelo Edwards, Bejamin Baker III, Preshaus Baker, Wynesheia Edwards, Will Boler III, Wanya Boler, Shasta Reeves, Demarcus Reeves, Arneka Reeves, Mario Durr, Cornelius Dowdell and Tyron Dowdell; bonus grandson, Dr. Kevin Wortman; thirty-one great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Hazel Lindsey, Beatrice (Carl) Webb and Hattie Holcey all of Opelika, AL; two brothers-in-law, Durr Ashmore and John T. Edwards both of Opelika, AL; bonus children, Reverend Johnny and Vanessa Nelms of Opelika, AL; devoted friends, Donnie and Rebecca Larkins of Opelika, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
