Lonzetta Terry Alvoid was born in Armorel, Arkansas November 29, 1953, the daughter of Alonzo and Ann Thompson Alvoid. Lonzetta was a faithful and dutiful member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church where she served as church secretary, Sunday school teacher, and was the choir president. She was educated in the Armorel School District and was employed at Arkansas Northeastern College.
Lonzetta was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo Alvoid, and Ann Thompson Alvoid, two sisters Bobbie Foster and Gloria Shaw. Lonzetta transitioned on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at the Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 70.
She leaves to cherish precious memories her son, Chirstopher Alvoid of Blytheville, Arkansas; her daughter, Robbie (Cedric) Junearick of Madison, Alabama; four sisters, Sandra Mathis of Blytheville, Arkansas; Dorothy Martin of Chicago, Illinois; Vonciel (Sonny) Stanton also of Chicago, Illinois; and Mildred Alvoid of Aroura, Colorado; six grandchildren, and one great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, her Mt. Nebo Church family, other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McDonald Horne Funeral Home. 1207 South Division Street, Blytheville, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 600 East McHaney Drive, Blytheville, Arkansas where Reverend Odale Jones is the pastor.
Reverend Johnny Williams will deliver the eulogy with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
