MR. WILLIAM WILSON, affectionately called “Billy Wilson,” was born September 14, 1942 to the late Leonard Woodrow and Lela Mae Wynn Wilson in Mecklenburg County, VA and departed this life December 9, 2023 in VCU-Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA. He was also preceded in death by his siblings- Leonard C. Wilson and Elaine Myers.

At an early age he was baptized and joined Trinity Episcopal Church where he was a Jr. Warden and Usher.

William was a 1960 graduate of the former East End High School.

“Billy” was an Entrepreneur, who operated a “Community Service Company,” specializing in flooring, plumbing, and electrical for over 40 years. He also drove school bus for Mecklenburg County for 19 years and he was a farmer. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars. He loved watching TV especially the wrestling and his favorite football team—The Dallas Cowboys.

“Billy” will be missed dearly by his three children- Clinton and Neal Wilson of LaCrosse, VA and Mia Pollard of Baltimore, MD; five grandchildren- Amber D. Wilson, ZaKiyha, Zionne, Zhane, and Marki Pollard, Jr.; two sisters- Mary Purcell and Ruth Harris, both of LaCrosse, VA; one brother-in-law, John Myers of Goochland, VA; one sister-in-law, Lucy Wilson of LaCrosse, VA; a special friend- Teresa Hendrick of South Hill, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
