Funeral service for Sharon Mitchell, 62, of Tuskegee, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at New Hope #2 Baptist Church, 38401 County Road 2, Shorter, AL, 36075 with interment in the church cemetery, Reverend Ocie Jackson will officiate.

Ms. Mitchell, who passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, Georgia, was born October 26, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York.

Public viewing will be Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.

Ms. Mitchell will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

Sharon was a St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School Class of 1979 graduate. For many years, she was employed by ARC Staffing and worked for Environmental Health and Safety at Georgia Technology.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two brothers, Larry (Sherry) Mitchell and Michael (Ivette) Mitchell both of Richmond, VA; two sisters, Fannie Harris of Montgomery, AL and Patricia Burton of Pontiac, MI; one aunt, Delores Williams; five nephews, Michael, Jamel, Mahkel, Darnell, and Angel; six nieces, Ginnia, Alexis, Kashona, Denae, Sharonda and Deloris; a godson, Isaiah Terrell Simmons; two long-time friends, Cheri Simmons and Adrienne Walker; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
