Laura Agnes Peoples

Laura Peoples was born on October 13, 1925, in New Brockton, Alabama to the late Bernard and Nobie Cole. She was one of nine children, eight which preceded her in death. She departed this life on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at home in Sarasota, Florida at the age of 98.

She attended public schools in Coffee County, Alabama and later moved to Sarasota, Florida. She worked at A Corner of England on St. Armands Circle for many years until her retirement in 1987.

She was a faithful member of the 201 Church of Christ until her health declined. Sister Peoples loved the Lord, she loved 201, and she loved her minister Brother Larry Williams.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Peoples, sons Jimmy Bass and Billy Brooks, daughter Lisa Cole, her eight siblings Ocie, Reggie, Alena, Bernice, Annie Ruth, Lillian, BJ and Sam.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her devoted children: daughter Sandra Pryor, daughter Shirley Williams (Lorenzo), daughter Renee Dunbar, son Paul Haygood, daughter Lillian Cole.

Eleven Grandchildren: Angela Owens (Ray), Willingboro, New Jersey; Niki Brown (Derrick), North Port, FL; Ashley Thompson (Shequilla), Louisville, KY; Correy Dunbar, Louisville, KY; Torrey Dunbar (Mamie), Sarasota, FL; Erika Haygood and Terika Haygood, Riverview, FL; Brandi Dunbar, Sarasota, FL; Lorenzo Williams III (Briana), Ellenton, FL; Briana Conwell, Tampa, FL; Joseph Haygood, Hurlburt Airforce Base, Okaloosa County, FL; twenty-seven great-grandchildren, fifteen great-great grandchildren; three nieces: Dorothy Haynes, Enterprise, AL; Christine Turner, Fort Lauderdale, FL; Sharon Atkins, Bradenton, FL; and a special niece Ashley Atkins (Justin), Tampa, FL; a devoted cousin and friend, Clara Dubose, Sarasota, FL as well as a family friend Parlean Grant, Sarasota, FL.
