Charlotte Ashford, 74, of Smiths Station, AL passed on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 in Phenix City, AL.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST, Saturday, January 6, 2024 at St. Mark C.M.E Church, Motts, AL with Rev. Daniel Todd, pastor; Rev. James Q. Smith, eulogist. Burial to take place in the Motts Church of Christ Cemetery. Public viewing to be on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 12-5 p.m. EST.

At a young age she joined First Baptist Village Spring, AL. She later married Willie Ashford Jr. and moved to the Motts Community where she joined St. Mark CME Church. She was a faithful member and loved her church family. She was a member of the Missionary Society, Stewardess Board, Church Secretary, Church School, Kitchen Committee, and she loved to sing in the adult choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband Willie C Ashford Jr., daughter Anita D. Harris, parents Rev. Rufus Hamby Sr., and Lucy Hamby, two brothers Rufus Hamby Jr., and Kenneth Hamby Sr. grandson JaCorey Taylor , mother-in-law Jannie Mae Ashford, sister-in-law Geraldine Joesph.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Stephanie Taylor, Felicia (Eddie) Robbins, one son Corey Ashford of Smiths Station. One god-daughter Sara Jones of Atlanta, GA, One son-in-law, Soloman Harris of Pinson, AL, three brothers, Roger (Monica) Hamby of Pleasant Grove, AL, Rollie (Carla) Hamby of Birmingham, AL, Cyrus Hamby of Oneonta, AL one brother-in-law Calvin (Jill) Ashford of Smiths Station, AL, one sister-in-law Diann (Watkin) White of Memphis, TN.

Seven grandchildren, Lashundra Hamby, Brittany Harris, Eryn Robbins, Kenyetta (Trey) Gates, Jamiah Robbins, Edneisha Robbins and Jaymee Taylor and 8 great-grandchildren.

Her best friend & sister in Christ Lula Jones & cousin/ sister Janice McCoy. Her bonus family who she loved dearly. The Propst & Everett Family.
