Charles Floyd, Sr.

Charles Floyd was born on October 21, 1940, to Pearl Floyd. Charles was affectionately known by family and friends as “Candy Pookie”. Charles was educated in the public school system. He later chose the role of adulthood at the age of 16. “Candy Pookie” later met and married the love of his life his wife, Rosetta Burrus. As a result of their union four sons were born. “Candy Pookie” would spend his life providing for his family as a truck driver. His love for family and friends was undeniable. He will truly be missed.

In addition to his mother, Charles was preceded in eternal rest by his son, Phillip Floyd.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Rosetta Floyd, sons, Charles Floyd, Jr. (Julie), Daron Floyd (Brittney), and Maurice Floyd, sisters, Deloris Johns, Shavaugha Floyd (Vickie Towne), brothers, Herbie Floyd, and Phillip Floyd, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, goddaughter, Sonya Tiller, special friends, Harold Davis, Lonnie Scott, George Alexander, Robert Jackson, and a host of extended family and friends.

The Floyd family will receive friends and the community 5-6:30 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Felix Coleman Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m., at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Palatka. Interment will be held in Gethsemane Cemetery.
