Joan Turner, 83, of Smiths Station, AL passed Wednesday, January 3, 2024 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral to held at 12:00 p.m. EST, Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 14970 US Hwy 280 W, Smiths Station, AL with Rev. Tommy Davis, pastor, officiating. Burial in Burrell Chapel AME Church, 639 Lee Rd 276, Beulah, AL. Public visitation will be on Monday, January 8, 2024 from 1-5 p.m. EST.

A TIME TO BE BORN: The life journey for Mrs. Joan Turner began on August 15, 1940 in Chambers County, AL. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Willie Lovely Floyd and the late Mrs. Wyatt Floyd Barnett.

A TIME TO SERVE: Mrs. Joan Turner was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Smiths, AL where she served as a faithful and devoted usher.

She was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, the late former Walter Turner.

A TIME TO DIE: God’s sunset fell upon Joan Turner on January 3, 2024 at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA.

A TIME TO MOURN: Joan leaves to cherish her memories five daughters, Catherine Black, Malinda Cason, Margeret (Nehemiah) Stevens, Fannie (Arthur) Samuel and Kathy (Charles) Anthony; four sons, Charlie Robinson, Jerry (Crystal) Turner, Ricky (Tiffany) Turner and Dan (Rhonda) Turner; two sisters-in-law, Charlie Bell Floyd and Mary Floyd; a host of grand children, great grandchildren and great great granchildren; a devoted friend, Janice Wimberly and other relatives and friends.
