Carol Ann Lively, 79, was born at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia on April 8, 1944, to the late Thomas (Boss) Lively and Murrium (Murry) Striggles Lively. She departed this life on Sunday, December 31, 2023.

She was a 1962 graduate of Lucy Craft Laney Comprehensive High School. Carol attended Cortez Peter’s Business College in Washington, DC. She was a Lead Medical Record Technician for the Department of Defense, Eisenhower Medical Center for thirty-three years before she retired in 2004. She was an active and faithful member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. She attended faithfully until her health failed. She loved her family and attended every family reunion since1980.

Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Thomasenia Key.

Carol’s legacy will continue to live through her two loving and devoted sons, Clayton County Educator Kenneth Lively (Felicia) Lively, of Lithonia, Georgia and Deputy Chief of the Augusta Fire Department Keith Lively of Augusta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Kalela Lively of Grovetown, Georgia, Chanté Lively, and Kene Lively of Lithonia, Georgia; two great grandchildren, MaKenlee Hester and Myla Williams of Grovetown Georgia; four sisters, Jean Tanksley and Mamie (Herbert) Fryer, Sr. of Augusta, Georgia, Janice Garner of Trenton, New Jersey, and Claudette Lively of Jacksonville, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of life will be 12:00 Noon, Monday, January 8, 2024, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 1714 Olive Road, Augusta, GA. Interment will follow in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA. (706) 790-8858.
