Funeral service for Jeremy Jackson, 34, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 650 Jeter Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801 with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Clifford E. Jones, Pastor, Reverend Jonathon Benton, Eulogist.

Mr. Jackson, who passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Piedmont Columbus Regional in Columbus, Georgia, was born September 16, 1989, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, January 5, 2024 from 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Jackson will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

He leaves to cherish his memory: father, Dexter (Tina) Jackson of Auburn, AL; mother, Yolonda Gunn of Opelika, AL; maternal grandmother, Mildred Gunn of Opelika, AL; paternal grandparents, Jerry Jackson of Phenix City, AL, Clara Jackson of Ft. Mitchell, AL and Rueben Slaughter, Jr. of Auburn, AL; four aunts, Bridgett (Lawrence) Martin of Snellville, GA, Clarissa Carmichael of Atlanta, GA, Cheryl Slaughter and Melissa Slaughter both of Auburn, AL; four uncles, Earnest (Nadja) Gunn of Opelika, AL, Alvin (Belinda) Slaughter, John (Renee) Slaughter, and Michael (Sandra) Slaughter all of Auburn, AL; seven cousins, Angelique Martin, Jessica Martin, Zaire Carmichael, Briana Beavers, Arteana McCullough, Lawrence “Alex” Alexander Martin, IV and Christion Robinson; a very special cousin, Daniel James; best friend, Courtney Brooks; nine great aunts; six great uncles; a host of cousins and friends.
