James Edward “Jamie” Meadows was born to the union of James Bickley and Bessie Mae Meadows Bickley on August 8, 1972, in Talladega, Alabama.
At an early age, James united with Mt. Cleveland Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a trustee, sang with the male chorus and served as a member of the Willing Workers. He was educated in the schools of Talladega County and went on to become employed during his professional career with Gadsden Etowah Ambulance Service, Stanley’s Car Care and Sunny King Honda. Mr. Meadows took the hand of the former Wyteria Chatmon in holy matrimony on March 17, 1995. Their union was blessed with a daughter that many know as Ty.
Memories will be shared of James as the loving husband of Wyteria; nurturing father of Katherine “Ty”; caring little brother of Elna (George), Manuel (Samantha), Monica, Sharon (Frank) and JoAnn (Derrick); nephew of Willie Ann, Warren (Gwendolyn) and Kenneth; and family member and friend to a host of many others.
On January 4, 2024, James traded time for eternity. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bessie Mae Bickley; his grandparents, Henry and Hannah Meadows and Henry and Bertha Bickley, Jr.; aunts, Nora Tuck, Jimmie Meadows, Catherine Meadows, Mae Lou Duncan, Allene Meadows, Ella Spencer and Mary Lois Meadows; uncles, William Meadows, George Meadows and Joe Moore; and a nephew, LaMarcus Meadows.
